Building a steam room that survives 80 per cent ambient humidity

Waterproofing goes on before the tiles, not after the first leak turns up. We tank the substrate continuously, seat and threshold included, slope the floor to a drain, and pitch the ceiling so condensation travels down a wall instead of dripping onto whoever is sitting underneath.
